Brady and I took at trip back to Illinois to visit my mom's side of the family. My mom and brother were already there visiting my Auntie Ann, so I met them and we spent a couple days exploring Chicago. Then we went to visit my grandma and grandpa. Brady met them last year when we was barely 1. My grandpa took a bad fall about a week before our trip and broke his pelvic bone. He was in the hospital for several days and by the time we got there, he had been transferred to the nursing home. It was pretty hard to see him in so much pain, but we were grateful to get to visit.
It turned out to be a bit of a family reunion as my cousin Gina came down from Michigan with her 3 kids. It was so fun to watch Brady play with the "big kids". My Aunt Jane came for a visit with my cousin Matt and his new wife. We also saw my Uncle Jim and Annie. All in all it was great to see everyone... but this mama was very tired after the trip traveling alone with a very active almost 2 year old.
Brady was very confused looking at my mom (Mimi) and Auntie Ann... so he was calling them both Mimi... and at one point said, "Two Mimi's!" We all got a kick out of that.
